Every collaboration starts with a good conversation. And in our case, that’s the kickoff meeting. Now you might be thinking: “Is that really necessary, can’t we just get straight to the drawing board?” Nope! This is the session where we lay the foundation for your project. Whether it’s a new website, a fresh branding, or digital growth – the kickoff is where it all begins.

But what makes this meeting so valuable for you as a client? Let’s walk you through how a kickoff meeting works with us, and more importantly, what you’ll gain from it.

What is a kickoff meeting – and why should you attend?

A strong website or branding project doesn’t start with the technology or the design – it starts with your story. Who are you as a company? What drives you? How do you want your story and services to come to life online? The kickoff meeting is the moment when we discover that together. This isn’t a short questionnaire or a superficial check; it’s an in-depth conversation of about 1.5 hours where we really dive deep together.

We take the time to understand your vision, your goals, and your challenges. It’s not just about what you like or don’t like about a website; it’s about who you are as a company and how we can best translate that story online. We actively think along with you about how to best portray your story and services. Because a website isn’t just a business card – it’s your story, told the right way online. And that’s something we want to work on together with you.

Who attends a kickoff?

We believe that a good project starts with hearing different perspectives. That’s why we encourage you to involve several people from your team in the kickoff meeting. Think of the project lead, someone from management, and maybe someone from sales or customer service who has a lot of contact with clients and knows their needs well. We recommend bringing at least two and at most five people to ensure we get a full picture of the various insights within your company.

On our side, the right people will join to ensure the project kicks off smoothly. You can expect:

  • A digital business strategist, who will help determine the direction of the project and think along with you about how best to tell your story.
  • A UX designer, who will be involved from the start to ensure the user experience perfectly aligns with your target audience.
  • A project manager, who makes sure everything runs smoothly and clearly communicates the next steps.

By bringing together the different perspectives from both your side and ours, we ensure that all aspects of the project are well thought out and that nothing is overlooked.

What do we discuss during a kickoff meeting?

This meeting isn’t about endless PowerPoint slides or a dry list of facts. This is your moment to lay it all out: your vision, your desires, your challenges. We want to know everything to make sure your project not only starts off on the right foot but also ends with a result you can be proud of.

During the meeting, we’ll dive deep into who you are as a company, how you want to position yourself, and how we can help you powerfully convey that story online. After this in-depth conversation, the project manager will ensure a clear summary of what was discussed, and especially, what the next steps are. This is where we explain what we expect from you, both in the short term (for the next meeting) and for the entire project. Some of the things we discuss:

Objectives

What do you want to achieve? More customers, a better user experience, or maybe a complete rebranding? This is where we focus.

Our target audience

Who should your website or brand appeal to? And how do we ensure they feel heard?

The technical side

Whether it’s an online store, automated emails, or interactive visuals, we ensure everything works well and looks good.

The look & feel

How do you want your brand to feel to your visitors? Is there a new brand identity, or do we need to make adjustments to the existing style?

What will you get out of this meeting?

Let’s be honest: we want you to leave with more than just a bunch of notes. This kickoff ensures you not only know where we’re going but also how we’re going to get there together. After the meeting, you’ll have:

  • A clear plan: No vagueness, no surprises – just a clear idea of what we’re going to do and how we’re going to do it.
  • The right focus: You’ve told us everything we need to know, so we can focus on the goals that truly matter.
  • A team ready to go: We’re ready to bring your vision to life, and you know exactly what to expect from us.

What happens after the kickoff meeting?

Here’s the beauty of it: after the kickoff, we get to work. We process all the input, create a plan, and work on a clear proposal. You can continue with your daily tasks while we keep everything on track. And of course, we’ll keep you updated on the progress – open communication is our standard.

The power of a strong start

A kickoff meeting is not just a formality. It’s the first step toward a project that really makes an impact. By making sure we clearly understand what success means to you, we ensure that every aspect of the project is focused on that.

For us, it’s not about boring conversations or long minutes. We want to work together, honestly and transparently. No hidden agendas, no sales tricks. Just collaborating on something we can both be proud of.
